LDAP-utils
ldap-utils
is a set of utilities that match the interface of the, commonly used, shadow-utils
package. It also tries to match the features and functionality of the shadow-utils
package where possible. This package requires the ldap, and lber libraries and headers,
to be compiled.
Status:
November 18, 2000 3:08:18 A.M.
The most current release of ldap-utils, is version 0.3 pre-alpha. This version includes luauseradd,
luauserdel, luausermod, luaid, luagroupadd, and the luagroupdel applications.
Notes:
The default installation path is /usr/local/sbin for the ldap-utils applications,
and /usr/local/etc for the configuration file lua.conf.
It is important to note that lua.conf must be configured before using these
applications. Most of the default values are suitable for most uses, however the
values for host, suffix, and rootdn, must be configured for
your ldap directory server. For more information on appropriate values for the
configuration file please consult the slapd.conf, ldap.conf, as well as the other
ldap and shadow-utils man pages.
Since the interfaces are similar to those of the shadow-utils package it is advisable to
refer to the man page of the matching application for information on command line options.
